3M

In January 2017 I started with 3M as a content editor. This meant I would be helping build the Intranet site for the employees to get news and important information. More responsibilities were given to me throughout the years. I started to create icons for tools that were used by employees, homepage prototypes for the migration from Classic SharePoint to Modern SharePoint and I assist in page layouts. I also create email banners for Corporate Communications, support Communications with mass emails and give advice on translating content.

3M Go Designs

During my time at 3M I was given the opportunity to work on graphics for 3M Go (the employee intranet site). The task was to create a header and footer banner for the homepage. I followed the style guide that was created for 3M Go and also followed 3M's brand guidelines. This included not distorting the 3M mesh and using approved color schemes. I used Adobe Illustrator to design the gradient banners.

Useful Tools for 3M Go

Useful tools can be found on 3M Go on the right side of the homepage. These are apps that employees use for tracking shipments, Lean Six Sigma, finding purchase orders and other daily tasks. I was honored to have the opportunity to design icons for apps that employees would use every day. I illustrate or use existing icons that 3M has provided in Adobe Illustrator. I created a template so I do not have to recreate the file from scratch.

3M Go Page Layout (Modern SharePoint)

I am part of 3M’s Digital Experience Team and we are currently in the process of migrating the HR sites from Classic SharePoint to Modern SharePoint. These are the last sites to be moved since they are big and have the most complex elements. The Healthy Living Incentive Discount Program page is one of the most viewed pages that will be moving. I have recreated the page in Modern SharePoint to demonstrate the streamlined look and format of the new system. I used a call to action web part to catch the employees' attention so they can add their healthy activities to the JourneyWell portal. As you scroll down the page, content is organized for the viewer to see the most recent success story. Then they learn about the program in the next section and see more success stories on the right side of the page. I have also added the Healthy Living Yammer group for easy communication with the Healthy Living Team. Lastly, employees have the option to view more resources or reach out to HR and JourneyWell.

3M Go Prototypes

For the last couple of years I have had the pleasure of learning Adobe XD and creating prototypes for 3M's intranet site. Collaboration is key for projects like this. I have excellent communication with my supervisor and colleague that are giving me art direction on how the homepage should look. We recently migrated the homepage from Classic SharePoint to Modern SharePoint and it has given the homepage a fresh look. I feel Adobe XD is a great program which is why I used it to design this portfolio site.
